An Award...Why Thank You!

I got an award!  Go check out Macs Girl at Just A Jersey Girl!  She's just getting started on her blog!  Thanks for the award!! :)

The rules are to:

1.  Thank and link back to the person who gave you the award
2.  Answer 10 questions
3. Pass it along to 7 blogs you've recently discovered and enjoy
4.  Leave your recipients a note, telling them about the award

Here are the ten questions:

1. Why did you create this blog?
My friend Ashley@Life After the Aisle kind of got me into it.  I was reading her's for a while and saw how great the community seemed.  I've found some fun bloggy friends and gotten good advice!  Plus, I'm in the middle of planning a wedding, as are a lot of the ladies who write the blogs I read, so it's nice to have others working through that at the same time.  Thanks Ladies!!

2. What kind of blogs do you follow?
Anything really.  If I read your blog and it sparks an interest, I'll probably follow!

3. Favorite Make-Up Brand?
Clinique.

4. Favorite Clothing Brand?
I'm not really sure I have a favorite clothing brand specifically.  I'm partial to Buckle jeans and Express Editor pants for work, but besides that, anything goes usually!!

5. Indispensable Make-Up Product?
Mascara.

6. Favorite Color?
Pink, black, blue, green.  I can't pink just one :)

7. Favorite Perfume?
Lacoste Touch of Pink or Ralph Lauren.

8. Favorite Film?
I can't really pick a favorite movie.  I love all types.
Here are some I really like:

(The only musical I like)

Plus a lot more from the Comedy genre, I just like movies :)

9. What country would you like to visit and why?
Germany.  It played such a big roll in World War II.  I really enjoy WWII history.  Plus, it's known to be beautiful!

10. Would you rather forget to put on mascara on one eye or forget blush on one side of your face?
I'd rather the blush.  I'd just wipe it off after I realized that happened.

And now for the 7 people to get tagged and receive this award...

Wedding Guest List...woo...

Ok, so I'm sure those of you who have gone through the wedding planning process understand how stressful the guest list can be...especially when parents are involved/paying for the wedding.  They want their guests there.  Which is understandable to an extent.  Right now, we are in a tough spot, so I'd like to hear about what some of you did when inviting guests.

This seems somewhat appropriate right now:

Here's our dilemma:

Right now, our invite list is at 346...which is way cut down from the original request for guests invited and quite ridiculous if you ask me, but, if all guests are invited on this list...pretty much everyone else is happy.  From our best guess, we can assume that close to 100 of those aren't going to come.  Only 12 are confirmed as not coming so far though.  So it really is just a guess, and we could have 334 still attending.  We do not really have to space for that, but I can assume not every single person will come.  I also do not want that many people there.  In fact, I'd like to be under or at least near 200.

If I do the condensed guest list, some people won't be invited, from each person's requested invites.  And by some, I mean, I've been able to cut the invite list down to 266, which still includes the 12 people that aren't coming that makes our maximum attendance 254.  A little nicer, and I'm sure there will still be those who don't come.

The wedding is slightly out of town.  Maybe 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on where the guests that live locally are coming from.

How many actually showed up from your invited list?

If I did invite the large list, do you think that it would end up in a manageable number?

I know it's just a guess, but from your past experience, I'd love to hear what happened for your wedding!

Any help would be awesome.  I have to start addressing very, very soon, and I just need to figure out what to do...everyone seems to want me to make the decision, but then some gripe when it's not what they wanted.  Ugh!  Eloping has been looking mighty nice lately!  Hello St. Lucia!! Ha.

Day 10: Favorite Girls Night Out Event

Day 10: Favorite Girls Night Out Event

I'm a fan of going to dinner or to someone's house and catching up.  It seems like we're all always so busy, so it's nice to just get to hang out and talk.  We did recently decorate Christmas cookies and that was fun, and it still involved lots of talking!

Day 9: Favorite thing to do on a cold winter day

If I had my choice, I would go snowboarding. When it gets close to that cold in Florida, in my mind we might as well have snow that day. But, that's not usually how it works.

I love to bake during cold weather. They go hand in hand for me. Maybe subconsciously, my body thinks I need more fluff to stay warm :-)

I also like to sit in front of a fire, hanging out with friends & family

A good movie snuggled under a blanket.

Oh, and running is always a joy when it's cold & dry over the darn humidity we usually have.

Day 8: Favorite Healthy Snack

Day 8: Favorite Healthy Snack

I love almost all fruits. Sometimes I add peanut butter to make it extra yummy + protein.

Popcorn is another good snack. Not too many calories, but it's a light happy snack.
