Maybe I should become a travel agent...

This weekend went by too quickly as always.  I kept saying Saturday yesterday like it still was Saturday instead of Sunday.  John kept reminding me it was Sunday in the tone of voice that people tell children things right before they pat them on the head.  It kept bringing me disappointment.  Oh well.  It's real life.  And thankfully I have to a job to go to on Mondays, although, I'm really praying that the whole lottery thing works out for me...I could be so productive outside of working!  Like, travelling the world!

I've been dying for a vacation lately and I love planning trips.  Planning trips is almost as much fun as going on them for me.  So, I give you...

My Top 10 Vacation Plans

1. Costa Rica
It's beautiful

has great surfing

and an amazing rain forest!

I would like to get there in the not so distant future.  If I can get our miles for our credit card squared away by then, it's a done deal!

2. A trip up the Pacific Coast Highway with many stops!
The Redwood Forest
The trees are huge
beautiful and magnificent.

California Wine Country

San Fransisco

Big Sur Coast

3.  Germany
There are many reasons I want to go to Germany.  The countryside is spectacular (so I've heard and seen in pictures) the architecture is a work of art and has a history that has effected the entire world.  It is somewhere I've wanted to go since a 4th grade history lesson on World War II.
Frankfurt

Rhine Valley

horrible concentration camps

and lots of pretty castles

4.  Fiji
Hello gorgeous!

amazing reefs and scuba diving

and when I go, I want to stay in one of these!

5.  New York, New York!
I've been to New York once and I thought the city was awesome!  It had so much going on and there was so much to see.  I have to go again and soak it all in once more!

6. United Kingdom

Dublin, Ireland

Edinburgh, Scotland

London

Wales

My heritage is English, Scottish and Irish, so hence this trip.  Beside the fact that it's a beautiful area of the world.

7.  The Swiss Alps
Hiking

Snowboarding?!  Yes, please!

8.  The Grand Canyon & Las Vegas

I've never been to Vegas, but John and I will make it there eventually.  We've talked about doing a white water rafting trip through the canyon where you stop and camp over night a few nights.

9.  Tour of Italy

I went on a whirlwind tour of Europe with my mom a few years ago, but now I want to go back and actually explore certain areas; Italy being one of them.

But I'd also like to see
Vineyards

Tuscany

10. A Tour of the Northeast United States
I'd start in DC and revisit the Capital

head through Pennsylvania for a stop in my favorite city of Philly
check out Boston

New Hampshire

A Vermont B&B

And the coast of Maine

If you could go anywhere in the world (forgetting about money) where would you go??

Savannah, Georgia
I love visiting Savannah!  I also love eating here:
Mrs. Wilkes House.  It's family style deliciousness!

I want to wake up in a city that doesn't sleep...

NEW YORK, NEW YORK

I'm finally going to make it to New York City!  Yay!  Something I can mark off my bucket list and my 101 in 1001 list!  My mom decided we should take a trip before the wedding, just her and I.  She wanted New York City to be the final trip we took with me as a single lady-in the legal sense anyway!  So, in a month, we're off to see the sites!  I've never been, so I need tips from all of you!  We are going to hit the obvious sites: Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Central Park, 30 Rock (ah!) Ground Zero, Broadway, ect...but what else do I need to see??  Anywhere special we should eat?  Shop?  Steer clear of? Let me know!

5 Question Friday

So, like I said, a few of my friends have started blogging. Some do it with scheduled days of each topic they write on each week, while others, write whatever they want, any time. I'm more of a do what I want to do, any time...but I thought I'd play along today with 5 Question Friday.

1. Have you ever visited another country? Yes, I have been lucky enough to do that. For my mom's 50th birthday, she wanted to go to Europe. My dad had no desire to go there, so he sent me with her instead. One of her friends from growing up also came with us, so it was fun! We flew over to Rome, Italy, visited Venice, a few stops in Switzerland, Paris, and London. It was a fun trip and neat to see everything. We did it with a tour group because that was what my mom chose. If I ever go back to Europe, (which I plan to someday) I will be doing it "backpack" style. I want to see how it is to live there locally. I've also been to Canada a couple times and Mexico on a cruise, but Europe definitely stands out. John and I will be travelling out of the country for our honeymoon too, but that's still a few months out! Here are a couple pictures from our trip to Europe:
Venice
Big Ben
Paris...can you tell we weren't ready for the picture??
Switzerland

More Venice
Best meal I had in Italy
Rome

2. Where is the strangest place you have ever been? Once, I went on a road trip with some friends to see some of the world's largest things in the southeast. I wouldn't really say it is strange, but maybe just random. I can't think of a strange place. It was an awesome trip though :)

3. What is your favorite season? I would say fall. I love the feeling of the cooler weather blowing in with the cool breezes. It's my favorite time to run and just be outdoors. I have reasons to love pretty much every season although Florida has like 9 months of summer, with a short mix of fall, winter, and spring just thrown in there randomly. That is why we Floridians travel! Snow boarding for winter, and if I want "real" fall, I'll go to the Smoky Mountains to see the leaves changing.

4. What one song will always cheer you up? Anything by Blink 182 and New Found Glory. I don't know why. They just make me happy. It brings back memories of a simple time in life I think. I had just started driving and experiencing freedom in my mind haha.

5. What Disney character do you resemble most? None of them, but if I had to pick one, I'd pick Princess Aurora...Sleeping Beauty. She is one of the few with lighter hair and blue eyes. I picked her over Cinderella because I enjoy sleeping more than cleaning and feel like I can never get enough sleep. Plus, I've never had an evil step-mother so, Cinderella was out.

Happy Friday!
