Miscellany Monday

one.
This past week has been the toughest week of my life.  I'm not sure I'll talk about what's going on, on here, but if you could, please keep my family in your prayers.  God will know what to do...
two.
I'm making some yummy cookies for a cookie party that I do with some girlfriends this time of year.  This year, I'm thinking of making an Oatmeal Cranberry & White Chocolate Chunk cookie.  It sounds so good and Christmasy.  I'll share the recipe later this week!
three.
I'm doing pretty good on our running challenge.
Day 5 will be completed today at lunch hopefully!  That's the goal anyway!

four.
I'm checking out Spring races.  What are you gals training for?  I'd like to do the NYC Half Marathon (registration opens in 30 minutes!), but I'm not sure I'll be able to pull that off this year.  I've looked a few others, but I figured I would see what my bloggy friends are planning on running, so let me know!

five.
I put a simple wreath together for Christmas on Saturday that I will be showing later this week.  I just want to get it actually hung up before I show it.  I love the little LED Christmas lights.  No tree yet, but I did get our Charlie Brown tree and a couple others out on Saturday.  Our house is starting to look like Christmas little by little.

Back to work on this Monday  morning.  Woo.

It's Monday...

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

one.
I haven't really been in much of a blogging mood lately.  There's a lot going on right now and the things I would like to share, I really can't.  But sometimes, being able to write it out is a nice outlet, so I'm a little bummed about missing out on that.

two.
I'm tired of BS.

three.
This week is quite hectic, but I'm so looking forward to the weekend!  One of my friends from high school is getting married and I'm so happy for them!!  I don't see her very often anymore, so it'll be good to catch up and watch them walk down the aisle!  Plus, it's out of town so that's no wedding stuff for us and the very good possibility of a trip to the beach!! Yay!!

four.
I'm so excited about my bachelorette party in less than two weeks!  I'm not sure what all my ladies have in store, but everything is fun with them!!

five.
I'm so thankful for my friends.  They're very supportive and are more than I could ask for!  This has been a bit of a touchy week and they've been awesome!

six.
Tonight, I'm going to another wedding dress fitting and then off to run with my love!!  I love running dates :)

seven.
We had sushi for dinner from the best sushi place I've ever been to.  Seriously, you crave their sushi after you eat it. all. the. time.

eight.
So, everyone's talking about Charlie Sheen right now.  I love Two and A Half Men, so I'm bummed it's off the air, but I don't know that I think the dude's crazy...I think he's taking an opportunity to play the role of a lifetime.  I think it's a act.  He's doing this to continue to get more publicity.  He's the highest paid actor on tv right now and has been offered more $$ than than any of us could fathom by many networks already since these crazy spout offs started.  He's been cleared for drugs and he is an actor...
What do you think?

Happy Monday friends!!  I hope today is wonderful for you!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

one.
We are getting married in less than a month!!  I'm so ready for the wedding to be here and for us to be on our honeymoon!  yay!!

two.
I spent pretty much all weekend moving my stuff and getting my place ready for rent.  It is rented now so that's a great feeling, but I have a lot of stuff.  I got rid of so many clothes and other things.  It feels good to get rid of things that were just sitting around but that's a whole lotta $$.

three.
Tonight, I'm working on centerpieces.  Hopefully we will get most of them done and then will not have any big items left at all!!  Yay!

four.
I'd really like to eat a home cooked meal.  I feel like it's been so long.  Oh good for me food...hopefully we can meet again soon.

five.
I saw this "ABC's" floating around.  I figured I'd join in!

A.   Age: 26
B.    Bed size: King.  That's the only way to sleep :)
C.   Chore you hate: Cleaning the bathroom.  I hate hate it!

D.   Dogs: Lily.

E.    Essential start to your day: Sleep.  Seriously a good night's sleep is essential to a good start to my day.  Besides that, a shower to wake me up.

F.  Favorite color: Pink.
G.  Gold or silver: Silver, white gold, platinum...not a fan of yellow gold.
H.  Height: 5'5".
I.   Instruments you play: I used to play the piano and trombone.  I don't think I'd remember them now though.
J.   Job title: Marketing and Sales Manager.
K.  Kids: no.
L.  Live: Florida.
M. Mom’s name: Melissa.
N.  Nicknames: Chrisy, Lou, CK, MF, more...
O.  Overnight hospital stays: Once for a few days, I broke my femur.  I had to be put in a body cast.  Awesome...
P.  Pet peeve: Dirty kitchen...I can't stand it.  Oh, and people who act stupid.
Q.  Quote from a movie/show: "Nobody puts baby in a corner."
R.  Righty or Lefty: Righty.
S.   Siblings: Brother.  Soon have have a new brother & sister :)
T.   Time you wake up: Lately, I've been slacking on the getting up thing since we've been so busy, but when life goes back to normal, so will my Monday-Friday 5:00am wake up call.  Saturday & Sunday depends.  When I start marathon training again, 3:30-4 ugh.  But, it's worth it!  Right now between 7:30-8.
U.   Underwear:  I'm not a fan of bikini, brief or granny panties.  You can figure that out :)
V.    Vegetables you dislike: Olives, slimy onions, green beans (unless in casserole).
W.   What makes you run late: Being too busy, John, and waking up late.  Some days, I'm not even sure what makes me late, all the sudden, I just am running late...
X.    X-rays you’ve had: Besides dental, leg, fingers, toes and legs again in college.  Funny story about the college one...I got hit by a car in the cross walk and so I was taken in for xrays because my legs really hurt.  When they read the xrays they came back out and asked if I had ever been shot because it looks like I was shot in the hip at one point with a shotgun.  Come to find it, it was just the rhinestones on my undies, but I had a good laugh, and no broken bones!
Y.    Yummy food you make: You name it, but I specialize in Mexican and Italian fares :)
Z.     Zoo animal favorite: Monkey's I'd say.  They're funny to watch.  I enjoy the signs they put near them too, they're apt to throw something at you that usually isn't pleasant.

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

one.
I have found them!
Sad thing is, they only had one of my favorites..Caramel Delights.  They'd already sold out of the Peanut Butter Patties...proving they're the best.  The mom with the girls informed me that there will be someone selling at my Publix for the next few weekends, so looks like I'll be spending extra time chasing little girl scouts for some yummy cookies.  I DO have priorities here.
I'm coming for you!

two.
I'm excited to get into pre-marathon training, training :)  I'm going to make sure my mileage is up to between 8-14 miles for my "long" runs, plus a few 5-6 milers during the week to get a good base reestablished.  I got my run in Friday and afterwards I was instantly giddy.  Proof that I need running ha.  I don't start training officially until probably June.  I booked my hotel already to be on the safe side.  It was chosen simply based on the fact that it was the only hotel in town with a hot tub.  Yes, that is a requirement for me after eating, showering, taking care of my muscles, and napping...hot tub time!

three.
This weekend was fantastic!  Friday, I ran, ate, and went to watch John & his brother play softball.  Robin and I cheered and laughed from the stands...there were some interesting things going on in the game, including the other team had an outfielder throw in the ball and hit their shortstop in the back.  He fell in slow motion like they do in the movies.  It was awesome and he was ok, so it's not sooo mean that I almost fell out of the bleachers laughing...  My friend Andrew met up with us too!! Yay!

Saturday, I got to sleep in a little and then I cleaned and went to get my wedding hair done.   You can see that here.  If anyone has suggestions, let me know!  That evening, we went out with our friends for our group Valentines date.  We had a great time.  We ate, we drank, we were merry!  Then we went and saw
The 10 of us gave it 2 thumbs up!  It was funny and was generally kept up beat!  You should see it!

Sunday, I slept in again! Yay! and then we went to lunch with John's family to celebrate his dad's and Robin's birthday.  We went to
where they serve family style Italian food.  Pretty tasty!

four.
Tonight we are cooking dinner at home for Vday.  I was cooking baked ziti, but after our lunch yesterday, we're cooking chicken tacos instead!  We're not much of a Vday celebrating couple.  We'll do little things and have dinner together, but that's about it.  I couldn't help but get a little cheesy this year because it's our wedding year haha.  It should be a good night!

five.
I swear Florida's weather is bi-polar.  It was so beautiful yesterday and in the 70's. This morning, it's cold.  It's so cold here in the office, even the men are complaining.  What's up with that?!  At least by the end of the week, there's rumors it's going to reach 80!  What?!  I think I need to head to the beach ASAP!

six.
Have a happy Monday & Valentines Day friends!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

one.
I'm back!  The trip was great!  More to come on that later...like maybe tomorrow if I can remember to download my pictures!

two.
I stayed in bed longer than I ever have before.  We're talking to bed at 10:30 Saturday, awoke around 10 Sunday and did not get my lazy butt outta bed until 1pm. Unfathomable for me...but I was exhausted to be fair.  Baring any illness, this may never happen again.  But for today...
...don't judge me.

three.
It's Monday and I'm happy to be back on a schedule.  I got up this morning at 5 and started month 2 of Insanity.

four.
I think I've been bit...
...by the marathon bug again.
I told myself I'd take a break for a while, but I don't want to anymore.  I like being able to say I can go run 20 miles just because.  So...I'm going to do another one...I think.  I was thinking of running in the Seattle Marathon in June, but John reminded me that we are getting married and are kinda busy the next couple months, so I may resort to holding off until November.
Savannah's pretty and I've been wanting to go.  Plus, this is their first year...it's like being a part of history...ha!

five.
My wedding shoes came in today!!  I'm excited.  I'll share them with you soon.  My toes need a repaint first ;-)

six.
I'm getting back on my eating healthy band wagon.  I've failed since December.  So, I'm going for round two. I think I can, I think I can not eat so much candy/cookies/cupcakes...Only time will tell.  I gotta be hot for my honeymoon...right?!

seven.
Happy Monday Friends!
Have a great day!!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

one.
I'm just plain tired lately.  It seems my body craves sleep far more than usual.  I'm glad I have vacation coming soon...I'll play and sleep and eat! That's all!

two.
I ran 9.25 miles on the treadmill Friday night.  Not so fun...even with a movie.  I find the treadmill much harder for runs longer than 5 miles than running outside.  I do have to run 30 miles before the end of the month to keep up with my 1000 miles this year.  I have a feeling I'll be making those up at a later date.

three.
My first wedding shower was this weekend.  It was a lot of fun!  When I get some pictures I will post them.  I'm looking forward to the other one now :)

four.
I watched Eat. Pray. Love. Friday night.  I didn't really care for it.  If you're thinking of seeing it, it wouldn't be on my list of priority flicks...that's for sure.

five.
=
FUNNY!
I thought it was a good flick.  You should see it.  We went with some friends and all the boys liked it too!

six.
99% of our invitations went out Friday!  I'm so happy!  What a relief.  Now everything else is easy.  It's falling into place.  Come back Wednesday for my new centerpiece idea!!  I love it!

seven.
Is anyone else slightly obsessed with 'Words With Friends'?  If so, you should hit me up...user name: CKDubs.  I usually suck, but enjoy playing :)

eight.
I bought The Sound of Music Friday through iTunes so I could watch it while I ran.  I loved that movie growing up and now we only have the VHS version which does me no good since I don't have a VHS player anymore.  Well, it didn't download onto my phone for some reason, so I had to do it again today.  I'm thinking of torturing myself again tonight with a long enough run on the treadmill to watch the movie if I can stand it.  Decisions, decisions.  I would run and try to watch it outside but I might trip over something or run out in front of a car while singing along...just kidding...about the singing anyway.

I don't have the greatest track record...during marathon training one morning I was running with a group and we jumped over a 'log' and later found out it was actually an alligator laying there.  Thankfully I didn't lose a leg...it would have sucked to do all that training for nothing...and that was without music or any other distraction...

Happy Monday Friends!  I hope you have a great start to the week!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

one.
Monday. Rainy. Naptime?
It's so tough to stay alert at work when it's awesome nap-weather outside.  Good thing I'm busy so I can't fall asleep :)

two.
Wedding invitation addressing starts tonight.  My wonderful ladies are coming to help!  I bribed them with pizza and ice cream ;) (although they're awesome and would have probably helped without bribery haha)

three.
John doesn't have to work today and I do.  I'm not so jealous that he's working on trim for the house though...

four.
This past weekend was relaxing and I loved it!  Well...relaxing for us anyway...

five.
My first wedding shower is this weekend and I'm so excited!  It's a family one...I've been cheating by looking at the registry online to see what to expect because I hate opening gifts in front of people and want to be prepared ha and people are being very good to us.  I'm so excited to use my new matching everything kitchen, bedding & bath stuff.  John says I have to wait until after we get married to use any of the stuff...is that true?!

six.
I was having trouble finding someone to watch Lily during the wedding since it's out of town, anyone who would watch Lily is going to be there and the resort my mom booked us at doesn't allow pets.  I found a hotel that's nice and right down the road that will allow pets, so my friend Andrew is going to watch puppies.  He may need some help since there are going to be 3 of them!  Thanks Andrew Lee!

seven.
My turtle is going nuts right now.  He keeps climbing on the rock and jumping off and appears to be trying to detach his floating rock from the wall.  Crazy turtle...

eight.
Thanks to Michelle, I'm craving a cupcake like crazy now! :)

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

{one}
I have checked out.
I do not want to be at work anymore until after New Years.  It's not that I don't like my job, I'm just done.  My motivation for all things work just left me one day last week and I can't find it.  I really think we should have a "holiday" like they do in some places in Europe.  Businesses shut down.  People do fun things.  It's for the good of the people...and their mental health.  Who's with me?!

{two}
5 days til Christmas.
Already?!  It seems crazy Christmas is almost here.  Almost done shopping, but not quite...

{three}
Lunar Eclipse.
So, tonight, you should check out the lunar eclipse going on.  First of all, it's pretty cool that this is happening  because the last one on the winter solstice was 372 years ago and secondly, you may never see another one of these in your life time...at least according to the scientist who say the next one is in 2094...I'll be 110 years old, so I'm pretty sure I won't be making that one.  I'll be setting my alarm to watch.
Check it out more info here.

{four}
A Festivus for the rest of us.
Every year, John's college buddies have a party in honor of Festivus...the Seinfeld holiday.  If you're a fan of the show, I'm sure you know about it.  There's the airing of grievances, the pole and feats of strength challenges.  This year, the party was in town, so we went up to a friend's house to enjoy the evening.  The feats of strength challenge this year was wrestling in sumo suits.  We had a good time and it was fun seeing friends we don't see too often.  It was a very late night and after a few small precious hours of sleep, we were up for John to go row...I'm exhausted.

{five}
Row, Row, Row your boat...
So, in high school and college, John and his brother were rowers (as was Robin, John's SIL).  The men's team that they rowed with in high school decided to get together and face off with alumni of an old rival for fun.  Sunday morning, we went in the cold rain to watch the boys.  Robin ended up steering the boat since they didn't have anyone to do it.  After I couldn't see them anymore, I went and slept in the car...

{six}
Happy Monday.
I don't have much energy to think of anything else fun, so I'm signing off.  Have a great day friends :)

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

{one}
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
We have had many dinners over the past few weeks, as well as a few Christmas parties as well.  This weekend was full of them!  Friday, we had John's work party at Bella Collina...beautiful.  It's amazing!  The inside matched the outside beautifully.  It felt like you were in Tuscany...or at least what I feel like Tuscany would be like!

Saturday night, we had another party.  Here are a couple pictures:
Our tree!
and
Thanks to Ashley for the rest of the pics!
Group shot!

The lovely ladies

And these, are our fellas :)
I can't tell you how happy this picture makes me!  It was after the gift exchange and the boys had new toys to play with! Ha!  Yes, they do have sling shots and Nerf guns!

{two}
Relaxing is so good...
This weekend was surprisingly relaxing, despite how busy we actually were.  I actually got to lay in bed after I woke up and watch a movie...Saturday AND Sunday!!  Lily enjoyed the relaxing weekend as well.  She even got to sleep in bed with me so she was happy.
See...

{three}
Christmas cookies galore!
This week, I'm getting together with some friends and we are baking and decorating Christmas cookies!  Yay!  I'm so excited!  It's one of my favorite Christmas-y things to do!

{four}
Working off those Christmas calories ain't easy!
Especially if you knew what, exactly, I was eating.  Ha!  Let's just say I feel like an Oompa Loompa...
...just not so orange.

You know that gross feelings when you've been eating entirely too much sugar and other bad things...boo.  Thankfully, I've been keeping up with my workouts.  I've completed 2 weeks of my Insanity workouts...only 7 weeks more to go!  Ha!

I've also decided to run another 1/2 marathon in the spring.  I've got my sights set on one that I'm super excited about, but it's also on a very important day...ahem!  Robin's (future SIL) birthday!  So, I'm not sure if that's going to be the race, or another, but I'm starting to train again tomorrow...well, more like maintain the training I just finished...Woo!

{five}
Christmas shopping is almost done!
Almost!  Usually we do a Christmas Eve shopping expedition and breakfast with my dad...it's tradition!  We get up at 5am, hit the mall around 6, shop, shop, shop and are at breakfast by 9am when the crazies come out!  It's been something my brother and I have done with my dad since we were elementary school age.  Why stop the tradition now?!   How's your shopping going?

{six}
Baby, It's Cold Outside!
That's right, it's cold again in Florida.  We had a lovely weekend of weather in the 70's and then...we're back to freeze warnings!  After a warm start, the temp dropped over 20 degrees in minutes as the front blew through.  It was crazy!  If I only had a fire place...*sigh* wishlist for the next house :)

{seven}
Wedding Wednesday will return this week!
We did something special yesterday for the wedding and I need opinions for something important!  More on that Wednesday! :)

Hope you all have a wonderful Monday, bloggy friends!  Keep warm, it looks like most of the country is covered with icy temperatures!!!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. A client of mine took John and I to the Magic/Heat game on Wednesday night, with fancy steak dinner on top :)  It was a fun night with R and his wife.  We had a great time and great seats!

2. Thanksgiving was awesome!  Started with the annual Turkey Trot, which I was pretty happy with my time since I had a late night the night before.  After the race, we started the preparation of all the food!  Lily was worn out at the thought of all that turkey!

Plus, my apple pie turned out looking pretty darn good if I do say so myself!

3.  I get to mark TWO more items off my 101 in 1001!!!  We put down new flooring this weekend...Friday, Saturday AND Sunday, but it was worth it.  We also painted the rest of the house!  We have a few minor touch ups to do, but the whole huge house can be marked off the list!  Yay!  So much for our relaxing holiday weekend we had planned!  Here's sneak peak at the new flooring.  It's plank porcelain tile, but looks like wood.  Pretty indestructible!
It's now cleaner than pictured above and has furniture in the rooms.  I'll post more pictures when we have completed the trim, but we are very happy with the results.  All that hard work this weekend paid off!

The house was a complete mess all weekend because we had to shove all the furniture in the kitchen.  Lily was rather thrown off by this so I let her sit up with us during lunch on a stool.  She didn't know what to think!

4.  I'm taking advantage of Cyber Monday!  I have already purchased one rather large Christmas gift this morning and have gotten all of our client gifts ordered.  So far, I've saved almost $200!  Thank you discounts!  Is anyone else taking advantage of this shopping day?!  I hope to have most of my Christmas shopping done by the end of the day!

5.  My Insanity challenge starts today.  So far, I'm off to a pretty weak start.  I didn't get out of bed this morning...I blame it on the new floors and paint...and then, I forgot to bring my DVDs to work to do it during lunchtime.  I did however remember my clothes and shoes.  Pointless now.  So...after my little trip after work tonight...I'll be starting my workout after dinner time.  Boo.  Maybe they have a sneak peak online I could try?   Youtube...please help!

6.  Wedding Wednesday will return this week.  I haven't had much to say the past few weeks about it but a BIG item has arrived and that's what my little trip after work involves! So excited!

7. I have nothing to say about the Gators performance...or lack there of.  Thankfully, I was busy putting down tile during the game and was just listening mostly.  The coaches did not utilize the talent they had on the team all season and right now, we stink.  Let's get out of the Tebow era (although I adore him) and work with what we have NOW!  Every team has their good and bad years...this is our bad year.  Hopefully they can learn and at least look like they're trying next season, even if we don't win...let's not look SO pathetic. Urban, I admire you as a man, you're a great guy, but if you don't take the care of the coaching staff, things aren't going to look so hot for you...or the other coaches.  The end.

Happy Monday All!  Hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving!!

Monday, all day...

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

{one}
This weekend was quite productive.  We painted the kitchen and 1/2 the family room, as well as finished off the master bedroom!  Completed a 9.16 mile training run.  We ran to the race (6 miles) and then did a 5K.
 Toasting the newly painted kitchen...

Kitchen, only need to add some doorknobs, change out the counter tops and get a new range/microwave in there and we are good to sell!

{two}
I'm totally excited about the next few weeks!  I have an awesome work schedules because of how vacation, work trip and Thanksgiving fell, but between the next 3 weeks, I'm working only 8 days!  Score!

{three}
I will be here very soon!

{four}
Our 1/2 marathon is only 13 days away!  I'm excited!  Plus, quality time with some of my ladies!!!

{five}
A small part of me wants to train for a marathon again.  The other part of me beats that side down into submission.  Watching coverage of the NYC marathon and the Marine Corps Marathon the weekend before have given me the bug again...slightly.  How long will I hold out?

{six}
I have been fighting it, but tonight, I will lose my battle about going:
It's our new arena.  I just feel like it's a ridiculous waste of money that no one needed to spend in this economy.  Especially for a team that most of the city has a love/hate relationship with. Let's just hope it brings in what the projections were...and then some.

{seven}
I'm tired of the "cold" weather.  I know those of you up north will just laugh at me and my Floridian self, but highs in the 60's aren't my friend.  It's been windy and cold and I'm happy the 80's are coming back.  The cold snap was nice while it lasted, but I'd prefer in the 70's next time please :)

{eight}
Jessica, over at Chronicles of a First Year Teachergot engaged this weekend!!!  Stop by and tell her congratulations!!!

{nine}
I would be happy with a nap right now.

The End.

Happy Monday!!!
