1. My blog has finally found it's permanent name...after trying to think of something clever, I found one that might not be so clever, but fits. My middle name is Lou, and also what my love calls me. I'm usually upbeat, so 'Skip to my Lou' seems to fit nicely.
2. I am obsessed with my dog Lily (picture to the right). We have fights, conversations, and we spend a ridiculous amount of time together. She comes with me to work daily. We are tight.
3. I love animals. Mostly dogs and turtles, but I still enjoy other little critters. I want another dog so bad sometimes, but I lack the enthusiasm that training involves at this present time (at least I KNOW this). I did find the puppy I want though, a little American Bulldog:
Isn't she so cute?!
4. I love to run, but I get burned out if I drag training out too long. I decided last year to train for a marathon one day, and started at it. About a month or two before the race, I started to hate running and every day I ran was a chore. Thankfully John ended up training too and pushed me through but to be fair, I had started training in June and five months of getting up around 3:30am three days a week wore on me (I'm a social person, and that definitely got in the way). I've decided my perfect long distance is 1/2 marathon (or shorter). Anything over 14 miles sucks and any training lasting longer than 3-4 months is absurd.
5. I've known my future hubby for at least 16 years. We grew up in the same church. I never thought I would end up dating him. Nothing personal, just hadn't really thought seriously about it, despite little nudges from a mutual friend in cahoots with my grandma. I'm so glad he ended up asking me out one day...and I'm SO glad I said yes.
6. My favorite color is pink. I like other colors too, green is a close second, and blue a third, but pink it is.
7. I love to bake. I rarely do, due to time constraints, but I love it. Thanksgiving to Christmas time, I make time to bake. I enjoy baking so much more than regular old cooking, but you can't have cupcakes for dinner every night.
8. I almost always want to travel and I love planning trips. Honestly, the anticipation and planning is half the fun for me. It's always nice to be home, but there's always a destination in the back of my mind.
9. I'm very opinionated and will start arguments if I'm in a bad mood or in disagreement, but I do not like conflict. I can handle it, but I'll avoid it as much as possible. I've learned to pick my battles over the years.
10. Trust is hard for me. Once you have it, I'm all in. If you break it, you won't get it back.
11. My family is huge. Like, have almost 100 people alone from my family on my wedding guest list huge. A standard family gathering involves at least 20-30 people every time, but I can't imagine holidays with my family any other way!
12. I wish I knew how to be more girly sometimes. Most of my friends are pros by now at hair, make-up and heels. I, sadly, am not.
13. One regret I have from the past is not joining the swim team. I REALLY wanted to, but I was told I couldn't do that and band. (The band director told me that) Later, I became friend with the swimming coach who told me that he would have worked around my schedule...that was also my last semester of high school.
14. Yes, I was in band. I played trombone and was pretty good. I'm not sure now if I could read the music all that well or play the instrument. It's been 9 years.
15. My dream job would be a sports reporter, that focused primarily on football. I would like to be like Erin Andrews, without the controversy. How awesome would it be to be able to rub elbows with amazing athletes and coaches every week?! If I had my preference, it would be the SEC too. They are much more exciting than any other conference.
16. I can shoot a shotgun pretty accurately. It's my home defense weapon of choice. Don't. Mess. With. Me. :-)
17. I absolutely hate killing bugs. Not because I feel sorry for them, but because I hate the crunch they make under your shoe. I will pretty much use anything from hairspray to a cup with a coaster on top to make sure the bugs don't crawl near me.
18. I am scuba certified, but look the other way when someone motions there's a shark near. I know they're there, I just don't want to see them.
19. For some reason I think it's a good idea to watch shark week and then go surfing. Why don't they put that on in the winter?
20. I need to do some form of exercise almost every day. If I miss more than a couple days in a row I feel lethargic and unhappy.
21. I'm happier when it's football season.
22. Recently, I've started to really enjoy wearing dresses. Sundresses are wonderful. I know not every occasion is appropriate for me to wear them, but I'm happy when I can.
23. I love to nap, but now that I've been in the working world for a while, I feel like they are a waste of my time. I know I get a great benefit from them, but there's only 2 full days a week to fit in all my fun!
24. I am picky about the shape of my silverware.
25. I love to shop for bathing suits and underwear.
26. I think snowboarding is amazing! I FINALLY got the hang of it on our 2010 trip to Utah! The previous 3 years were spent falling hard down the mountain and leaving with bruises on my butt, knees and pride. This past trip, my future sis-in-law and I got pretty good and so we ended up going off the trail and through the woods a lot (on purpose)...it was one of my favorite parts of the trip...laughing as we dug ourselves out!
27. The beach is probably my favorite place to be. I would love to live there...close enough to just walk out of the house and onto the beach. I will one day, even if it is part-time.
28. I dream of winning the lottery, not in a it-would-be-nice kind of way, but in the John-and-I-sit-around-talking-of-exactly-what-we-would-do-with-the-money kind of way. If I did win, I'd still work. I'd just take long vacations in between!
29. The top 5 "famous" people I would like to meet are almost all involved in athletics. Each of them are still humble, despite their success, which is why I think they make such interesting people. In no particular order:
31. Chick-fil-A is my favorite fast food. Hands down. Every time.
32. I get the urge to cut my hair short(er) often. Right now, it's about 1/2 way down my back, but I always toy with above the shoulder. Some people can pull it off so well. I can't.
33. I would love to move away from Orlando, but everything important is there. My family, friends, job are all based out of Central Florida. I want to move somewhere different, but I would only want to do this if others could come with me. What makes where I live home is those that are there with me.
34. I can't wait for John and I to build our dream home together. We have nice homes now (yes two!) but we are working on finding a renter for mine when we get married, but it is not the same as building your own home together. We are both in construction. My dad built every home we ever lived in. I love the process, although it can be frustrating at times. I get so excited when I really sit down and think about ours.
35. I can get delight out of simple, stupid things. That's what makes life great though...the little things!
36. I am working on my attitude. It's not usually too bad, but I think the more you tune yourself in to having a great attitude, the happier life is.
37. I have to set goals to get things done. If I don't challenge myself, I don't usually do anything different.
38. I want to learn to row. John was a rower in high school and college, as was his brother and his wife, and I find it fascinating. I went to see Robin row one regatta while she was still at UCF (as captain woo!) and I really want to just know how to do it.
39. I toy with going back to school...again. I like to learn. I enjoy the challenge. I just graduated with my master's in business in 2009 via distance learning from Florida, but I've always wanted to go to law school. I even took my LSAT's when I finished my undergrad. Maybe one day. Just for fun.
40. Some days, I seriously consider quitting my stable job, selling everything and moving to the beach where John and I could teach surf lessons and live a nice and easy life.
11. My family is huge. Like, have almost 100 people alone from my family on my wedding guest list huge. A standard family gathering involves at least 20-30 people every time, but I can't imagine holidays with my family any other way!

- Tim Tebow (who wouldn't want to meet him?! Amazing athlete, amazing reputation, amazing testimony, amazing!)
- Tony Dungy (an amazing man...read his story if you ever get the chance)
- Urban Meyer (a great coach who actually cares about his players, which is shown through his track record at every college he has coached at)
- Peyton Manning (humble team player, can poke fun at himself and he FINALLY got his chance to be a Super Bowl Champ!)
- George W. Bush (not everyone's favorite president, but he led our country during our toughest recent time, 9/11 and most importantly he actually stayed true to what he said he believed in, despite popular opinion)
30. I love ice cream. I ate is so much for a while, I made myself intolerant to it and was unable to eat it without getting sick. How sad. But, I'm all better now and have learned to eat it in moderation!
31. Chick-fil-A is my favorite fast food. Hands down. Every time.
32. I get the urge to cut my hair short(er) often. Right now, it's about 1/2 way down my back, but I always toy with above the shoulder. Some people can pull it off so well. I can't.

41. I really do not like the color purple. If they give Lily purple bows at the groomer, I take them out as soon as we get home.
42. I hold grudges. I wish I did not and I'm working on it, but I do.
43. I love eating ice. I try not to, but once I start it's hard to stop!
44. I have to iron something before I wear it out. I can't stand wrinkles.
45. I hate, HATE having a dirty kitchen. It drives me crazy! It's so easy to put things in the dishwasher and not leave them in the sink, so why not take the extra 10 seconds and throw it in? Plus, all the germs that go along with a kitchen...gross. It is my biggest pet peeve!
46. I have to have covers when I sleep.
47. I'm not a super sensitive person. I hate crying. It makes me feel weak. But if you're close to me you can hurt my feelings...you probably just won't ever know.
48. I've finally found a group of girlfriends that's solid. It took a long time, and many hurt feelings, but the girls that are "my girls" personalities all fit together great and I love them!
49. My guilty pleasure is the stupid Bachelor(ette/Pad) franchise. I don't know why. I hate drama in my life. I hate catty people. But, for some reason, I'm drawn to that stupid franchise.
50. I'm not a "wedding girl". I have enjoyed planning some portions of the wedding (dress, place, food, cake, ect) but I think people put too much pressure on weddings. It's a big deal, but make an emphasis on what the day's about, not the other
51. I'm
52. Sometimes I bite off more than I can chew. I'm working on still following through though. I'm sometimes a little over-zealous.
53. I need sleep. And yes, I know everyone needs it, but I need it to be nice, friendly, and myself. I need about 8 hours a night. It is a necessity. After a few 6 hour nights, I do not function. It's sad. I've always been this way, and it will most likely not change now. Thankfully, John falls asleep all the time and needs sleep too, so it works.
54. Water is my drink of choice. I like coke, but I don't drink it often.
55. I have a thing about teeth.
56. I hate when someone touches my neck Turtlenecks and I also are enemies because of this. As are I and wet suits...which makes me a fair-weather diver. And I'm ok with that.
