Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

one.
We are getting married in less than a month!!  I'm so ready for the wedding to be here and for us to be on our honeymoon!  yay!!

two.
I spent pretty much all weekend moving my stuff and getting my place ready for rent.  It is rented now so that's a great feeling, but I have a lot of stuff.  I got rid of so many clothes and other things.  It feels good to get rid of things that were just sitting around but that's a whole lotta $$.

three.
Tonight, I'm working on centerpieces.  Hopefully we will get most of them done and then will not have any big items left at all!!  Yay!

four.
I'd really like to eat a home cooked meal.  I feel like it's been so long.  Oh good for me food...hopefully we can meet again soon.

five.
I saw this "ABC's" floating around.  I figured I'd join in!

A.   Age: 26
B.    Bed size: King.  That's the only way to sleep :)
C.   Chore you hate: Cleaning the bathroom.  I hate hate it!

D.   Dogs: Lily.

E.    Essential start to your day: Sleep.  Seriously a good night's sleep is essential to a good start to my day.  Besides that, a shower to wake me up.

F.  Favorite color: Pink.
G.  Gold or silver: Silver, white gold, platinum...not a fan of yellow gold.
H.  Height: 5'5".
I.   Instruments you play: I used to play the piano and trombone.  I don't think I'd remember them now though.
J.   Job title: Marketing and Sales Manager.
K.  Kids: no.
L.  Live: Florida.
M. Mom’s name: Melissa.
N.  Nicknames: Chrisy, Lou, CK, MF, more...
O.  Overnight hospital stays: Once for a few days, I broke my femur.  I had to be put in a body cast.  Awesome...
P.  Pet peeve: Dirty kitchen...I can't stand it.  Oh, and people who act stupid.
Q.  Quote from a movie/show: "Nobody puts baby in a corner."
R.  Righty or Lefty: Righty.
S.   Siblings: Brother.  Soon have have a new brother & sister :)
T.   Time you wake up: Lately, I've been slacking on the getting up thing since we've been so busy, but when life goes back to normal, so will my Monday-Friday 5:00am wake up call.  Saturday & Sunday depends.  When I start marathon training again, 3:30-4 ugh.  But, it's worth it!  Right now between 7:30-8.
U.   Underwear:  I'm not a fan of bikini, brief or granny panties.  You can figure that out :)
V.    Vegetables you dislike: Olives, slimy onions, green beans (unless in casserole).
W.   What makes you run late: Being too busy, John, and waking up late.  Some days, I'm not even sure what makes me late, all the sudden, I just am running late...
X.    X-rays you’ve had: Besides dental, leg, fingers, toes and legs again in college.  Funny story about the college one...I got hit by a car in the cross walk and so I was taken in for xrays because my legs really hurt.  When they read the xrays they came back out and asked if I had ever been shot because it looks like I was shot in the hip at one point with a shotgun.  Come to find it, it was just the rhinestones on my undies, but I had a good laugh, and no broken bones!
Y.    Yummy food you make: You name it, but I specialize in Mexican and Italian fares :)
Z.     Zoo animal favorite: Monkey's I'd say.  They're funny to watch.  I enjoy the signs they put near them too, they're apt to throw something at you that usually isn't pleasant.

Day 12 & 13: 30 Day Photo Challenge

Day 12: Something you love:

Running. I can't even describe my love (and sometimes hate) for running. It makes my bad days better and always gives me a new goal to strive for. It keeps me happy and healthy. Oh, running, how I love thee!

Day 13: Favorite singer/group:

I can't pick a favorite so here are some I always enjoy:

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

The Nerve...

So, last night some time, some low life decided to come rob me of my topiary tree.  It kind of looked like this:
but it was planted in the ground...!

Who freaking goes to someone's house, digs up a tree and runs off with it?!

I'm so infuriated.  Seriously, pissed.

I want another one, but I don't want someone to lift that one too...

Maybe I'll sit out on the front porch...
don't think they'd mess with my trees then...

First, it was punk kids kicking over our lights, now theft.

Not cool little surburanites, not cool...

I'm Just Sayin'

I'm joining up with Amber today for 'I'm Just Sayin'.

When asked your political stance, in any form, to say a politician's name proves you to be ignorant.  So, when having a debate or on facebook, if you reply, "Obama", which is the most common of this offense I have seen lately, I will automatically think you really have no clue and are....kinda sad.  Not because you share the same ideals and values that you can articulate and they happen to be aligned with an individual, but because at that point, I really don't think you know and are just trying to be 'trendy'.  And 'trendy' voters really are the best...I'm just sayin'...

To the people that use the *f* word, or for that matter any other curse word in ordinary conversation excessively...really??  I know you are smarter than that, and there are a few people that are very, very close to me that seem to have this issue after spending time with certain people who do this, but there are many other adjectives, nouns and verbs that can supplement those otherwise offensive and rather lazy words. I understand if you use them in anger, not going to say I don't from time to time, but really, it is not an *f-ing* banana, it is a yellow, nutritious banana.  See...easy.  I'm just sayin'...

To ABC, and the tv magic dudes behind the crack series 'The Bachelor/ette'.  Why did you pick the next bachlorette?  What purpose does she serve as that?  She kind of annoyed me on the show and you're bringing her back for a whole lotta spotlight?  I'd stay away from your series, but for some reason I can't.  I guess I enjoy watching other people that I don't know's drama (hey, at least it's not my life) but you've pretty much ruined  next season for me.  I mean, I really liked Alli at first, but I really didn't care for her towards the end so maybe the next chick, who I don't like, will grow on me?  I doubt it, but I'm sure I'll give it a shot.  Seriously though, you've gotta pick better people...I mean, at least get a guy with a personality next time...Brad's pretty, but that seems to be all he has going for him....I'm just sayin'...
(I find out spoilers from a guy called RealitySteve.  Only check him out if you're ok with having spoilers, but if you're not don't look yet or it will ruin the show for you.)

Day 11: 30 Day Photo Challenge

So, Day 9 was supposed to be: A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most, but I don't really like that one.  I'm actually going to go ahead and announce that I will be skipping Days 9 & 10 because I just don't really like either of those topics and am going to skip down to:

Day 11-A picture of something you hate
Dirty Dishes.  No, this is absolutely not my house.  It is however, my nightmare.  All those yucky germs...gross...

Black Olives.  Yuck!

Day 8: 30 Day Photo Challenge

Day 08 - A picture that makes you laugh

Sumo Wrestling suits...oh yea.  I was schooling my friend Tiff and apparently rubbing it in (as seen by my finger pointing in her face).  It was hilarious, we could not stop laughing the whole time :)

Right now, Angels are singing...

It's been so long...

Got these bundles of joy from the UPS guy just now...

Happiness...

Eat it. Work it. Blog it.

Eat It.
Last week I did really well until Saturday afternoon at my shower.  I started with cake.  Then later that night had a couple cupcakes, sushi (good) and an egg roll (bad).  Sunday was a bad day, I woke up feeling like garbage, got bad news, so this was the worst starting with a donut (at least I limited myself to one) and then nachos from Tijuana Flats.  That was all.  All during the week though I did great.  Gotta work on that whole weekend thing a little better, but all in all not too horrible.  I'll cheat for donuts, although I can usually control it.  I tried one of those special chocolate ones Dunkin Donuts has been advertising...friendly word of advise, stick to the regular donuts...much better...especially munchins...yummmmm!
Work It.
So, I started last week off not feeling too hot, so I didn't get started until Tuesday evening with my running.  I put in 17 miles between Tues-Thursday.  Then, Thursday evening I had laser hair treatment done, so I couldn't workout again until Saturday morning.  I had to get a lot of things done and hadn't slept well the few nights before so I figured I'd do a 10 mile run Sunday, but woke up feeling sick, so...I didn't make my 30 miles this week.  I'm going to work at it again this week.  I have 4 under my belt so far, and will hopefully be much closer to 30 assuming my head stops feeling like exploding...any day now!  Stupid allergies!

Blog It.
I'm not really impressed with myself from last week although it appears that I did lose another pound or two.  We shall see how I fare this week.  I'm bummed about this whole allergy thing, my head feels like exploding at about 3 miles, it was all I could do to push to 4 earlier today.  I was hoping to get in another 3-4 this evening before softball, but I think my body is revolting.  If I can knock this, I'll be on my way though :)

Day 07: 30 Day Photo Challenge

Day 07 - A picture of your most treasured item

Lily.
She brings me (& John) so much joy.  She's such a good little puppy and I couldn't imagine my life without her!

My engagement ring is my other treasured item!  But that is for another day :)  After the wedding!

Please Pray

I wasn't sure whether to post this or not, but I know prayer does help, so that is why I'm posting this.

Early yesterday morning my brother told me that one of his friends from growing up had been murdered this weekend by her ex-boyfriend.  She was over at our house a lot with his group of friends during high school and was such a sweet girl.  The couple had a little boy together.  Please pray for the families involved and for that little boy who will be growing up without his parents.  I know a lot of people are hurting right now, so please just take a little time today and pray for them.

Day 4, 5, & 6: 30 Day Photo Challenge...and yes, I am a slacker.

Day 4, 5, & 6: 30 Day Photo Challenge

Day 04 - A picture of your night
This would be Saturday night.
We celebrated Robin's birthday with Michabella's Cupcakery cupcakes after eating sushi for dinner!  They were wonderful and so cute...you should totally order some from her!  We had carrot cake, snickers, and funfetti cupcakes and everyone loved them!!

Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory
Besides the obvious...the day John and I got engaged...:)

It was my first marathon experience.  I had never taken on a physical challenge like this before.  The training was time consuming and hard, but it was a great thing for John and I to do together.  We supported each other and achieved a big goal!  Another thing that made this day special was the support of our family and friends.  Some came out to cheer for us in 20*F weather for hours, others met up and celebrated with a dinner later.  It was really touching to see the support they provided for us!  We really do have awesome friends and family!!

Day 06 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day

Carrie Underwood
She's classy, stays out of the limelight for anything negative and hello! look at those legs!!  Plus she can sing amazingly!  I also wouldn't mind learning her work outs :)

So, I thought I'd share them all, because, I can :)

Day 29 - A picture that can always make you smile
Day 30 - A picture of someone you miss

Day 01 - A picture of yourself with ten facts

1.  I'm a huge Gator fan.  I grew up that way.  My Granddaddy went to Florida and he passed the tradition along.   The good thing is you'll always know where to find me September-November.
2.  I love to shop for bathing suits and underwear more than anything else.  For some reason it just brings me joy!
3.  I love ice cream.  I ate is so much for a while, I made myself intolerant to it and was unable to eat it without getting sick.  How sad.  But, I'm all better now and have learned to eat it in moderation!
4.  Chick-fil-A is my favorite fast food. Hands down.  I got it for dinner last night...yay!
5.  I really do not like the color purple.  I don't know what it is, but I have this weird aversion to it.  I do not own one purple item of clothing.
6.  I have to iron something before I wear it out.  I can't stand wrinkles.
7.  I hate, HATE having a dirty kitchen.  It drives me crazy!  It's so easy to put things in the dishwasher and not leave them in the sink, so why not take the extra 10 seconds and throw it in?  Plus, all the germs that go along with a kitchen...gross.  It is my biggest pet peeve!
8.  I almost always want to travel and I love planning trips.  Honestly, the anticipation and planning is half the fun for me.  It's nice to be home, but there's always a destination in the back of my mind.
9. I am obsessed with Lily.  We have fights, conversations, and we spend a ridiculous amount of time together.  She comes with me to work daily.  We are tight.
10.  My dream job would be a sports reporter, that focused primarily on football.  I would like to be like Erin Andrews, without the controversy.  How awesome would it be to be able to rub elbows with amazing athletes and coaches every week?!  If I had my preference, it would be the SEC too.  They are much more exciting than any other conference.  Some of you may deny this, but I know it to be true.

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm Loving
I'm obsessed with yogurt.  Key Lime=my fav!  I don't know who here watches Burn Notice, but I can totally relate to Michael Westen's habits...in that he eats a lot of yogurt...not the whole chasing bad guys and killing people thing.

I'm Loving
the pretty daffodils John gave me.  The poor little plant isn't holding up too well in Florida.  Any plant lovers out there with advice?  It's in a pot and inside and wants to fall over...

I'm Loving
Our wedding is in 38 days!!

I'm Loving
our weekend forecast!

I'm Loving
they're having some pretty good sales on certain bathing suits right now.  If I only had tons of $$ to buy everything I want from there!!

I'm Loving
I have a shower this weekend with my lady friends!  It should be fun!!

I'm Loving
It's Robin's birthday this weekend!!

I'm Loving
Our little family!

Our extended family :)

What are you loving?

Eat it. Work it. Blog it.

I'm linking up with Amber this week for Eat it. Work it. Blog it.

Eat it.
I've done pretty good with my eating this past week.  I did cheat twice during the weekend, but to be fair, it was for a birthday and group date night...and those are my excuses.  I'm not really one to over eat...when I'm full, I've always just naturally stopped fortunately, but sometimes, you can pass the serving size and eat way to many calories that aren't so good for you and not be really full still.  I'm horrible with cereal.  So, I decided last week to start counting out my cereal for my serving size and stopping there.  I think that's how extra calories slide in on me.  So far it seems successful, and I'm usually satisfied at the end of my smaller bowl of cereal.  I've been adding a fruit to it for the morning and it seems to be working pretty well.  I'm working on this in every area, but cereal is one of my worst areas!

During my lunches, I've bought a lot of different choices to make a sandwich, have a couple sides and a fruit and veggie.  I'm usually in on turkey or peanut butter, but will on occasion eat the tuna fish sandwich.  I've found that taking a little extra time preparing for lunch has helped.  When I go out to eat, that small burger and fries every day packs on a lot of fatty calories that a turkey sandwich, carrots and cottage cheese don't have.  Then I can control what goes into my food for lunch :)

Work it.
This week, I made 5/5 workouts.  I did Insanity and ran.  My goal is to run a minimum of 1000 miles this year, and I've gotten a little off track due to vacation and a few other things, so I'm working on making it up.  If I can get in 30 miles a week up to the wedding, I'll be caught up and if we decided to go for a run on our honeymoon, those will be extra bonus miles!  I'm sure when I start marathon training again, I'll hit well over 1000 but I would like to be on track throughout the year...83.3 miles/month.  Insanity, I'm doing just to get through the whole training package.  I'm ready to go back to normal workouts though...my attention span is having trouble focusing on Insanity.  I will be finished with it in 3 weeks though!

Blog it.
The changes I've made have been successful.  I don't usually gain too much weight or lose it, but my love affair with sugar lately did add a few pounds I wouldn't mind getting rid of.  I lost 2lbs last week, so I'm happy about that :)  Hopefully I'll have a good report next week too!

Love is All Around

1. What is your favorite romantic comedy?
No so funny in some parts, but I love it.  The only movie to really make me cry every time I watch it.

Classic.

There are many more I like, but those two always stand out.

2. What are your favorite flowers?
Daffodils
I wish they could survive in Florida.
and
Orchids.

3. What is your favorite Valentine's Day treat to eat?
Conversation Hearts...yum...

4. Describe your best Valentine's Day.
Last year was probably my favorite thus far.  We spent all day Saturday together and John took me to get Orchids.  They have a special meaning and are my second favorite flower :)  Then the next day, we went to Sea World with our friends, had dinner and watched a movie.  Get the best of both worlds, romantic love and friend love :)

5. What has been the most romantic night of your life?
The night John asked me to marry him.  And not just because of the night itself, which was fantastic and perfect in our way, but it became more so because of all the thought and planning I found out later that he put into it all.  And how cute he was about it, when finding out later almost all of our friends knew because he just had to tell them.

6. What's your go to date night outfit?
It depends on what we're doing.  Jeans and a cute top usually.

7. Where is your favorite place to go on a date?
The beach and to one of our favorite restaurants over there.

8. Store bought Valentine's or homemade?
Doesn't matter to me.  it's the thought that counts.

9. What is your favorite love song?
Hey There Delilah is one of them because it came out when John was working in the Keys and was 5 hours away at all times and it kind of just became our song.  I remember we were walking around in a surf shop one day and the song came on and we both talked about how much we loved the song right now.  Kinda became ours while we were away from each other so much.  The other one is the songs we're dancing to at our wedding...but that's for later....

10. If you had to pick a date for Valentine's who would it be?
John...every time.
