10 Day Challenge-Day 2

Day Two: Nine things about yourself that most people don't know.

{one}
I have to have my toes painted.  Right now, they are bare and I'm not happy about it.  If you are around me much and notice, they almost always have a polish of some sort.

{two}
Planning a trip for me, is as much fun as going on it.  I can't wait to start planning our honeymoon details...although we have a few trips to go on before that to plan :)

{three}
Every time I enter Ben Hill Griffin stadium, I get a little choked up (and I'm not and crier and really not an emotional person).  This feeling is not because of my great love for the Gators (that gets giddiness and loud cheers) but because it brings back tons of memories from my Granddaddy and Granny.

{four}
I always envied the girls in the 'Sex in the City' series because, well, who wouldn't want to have girlfriends like that?  I found a better group, more suited for me...yay!

{five}
I don't squish bugs.  I hate the crunching.

{six}
I'm ridiculously picky about the shape of my silverware.  It was hard picking out a style that suited my taste when registering for wedding stuff.

{seven}
I hold grudges.  I try not to, but it's hard for me to get over certain things...as ridiculous as it might seem to someone else.  Usually, it only happens when I feel someone intentionally cheated me, deceived me, or hurt me.

{eight}
I did a modeling thing for JC Penny's when I was about 10.  I had to wear different outfits and walk on a runway and take pictures.  No one would ever guess that :)

{nine}
I have an issue with textures.  Especially in dealing with food.

PS: Puppy Update...the puppy was having problems dealing with the medicine they gave her to get rid of the puppy worms she may have.  She was not handling it well.  She was having seizures and foaming at the mouth last night, but apparently that sometimes happens and one other pup in the litter was doing the same thing, but he was worse.  Poor puppies.  They're getting checked out today so see if it was just a reaction to the meds or other problems, so we are up in the air about Delilah right now...boo.  No pictures either...it was too dark and she wasn't doing well, so I left her alone.

10 Day Challenge

I've been reading over at Polka Dots, Pearls, and Pink...Oh My! and Jess has been doing a 10 Day Challenge.  It seems like fun and I've enjoyed reading it, so I decided I'd start today.  Here's the challenge:

Over the next 10 days, blog about the items on this list:

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself that most people don't know.
Day Three: Eight things you couldn't live without.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you could change or you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot to you.
Day Seven: Four turn offs.
Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Day Nine: Two words that describe your life right now.
Day Ten: One confession.

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now...

{One}
John
 To my person...I've been missing you while you work late hours.  I know it'll be worth it later.  It's one of the things I love most about you...that you give things that are important everything you've got, but I kinda miss you when you're gone for nights on end.  Oh yea, and thanks for being so awesome about the puppy thing...and about Lily for her many 'problems' and quirks.  I can't wait to marry you and be Mrs. W (although I'm still gonna miss the 'K' just a bit ha!).  Only 5 months, 3 weeks and 1 day until you're my HUSBAND according to my clicker at the bottom of my blog (eek!) :)

{Two}
Lily
Stop being a bitchy little princess.  I love you and I know that's partially my fault, but there's going to be another little dog in the house soon and you're going to have to learn to play nice.  I hope you learned your lesson about eating things you know you shouldn't from your upset tummy this weekend.  I'm glad you're better though, I was worried.  Oh yea, and you'll always be my #1 pup...but don't tell Delilah.

{Three}
Stupid Hoe on eBay Who is Claiming Fraud Against Me
It is not my fault that your phone broke.  If you would have paid attention to my seller rules, we would not even be having this discussion right now.  Also, if you didn't try and cheat your government with from more import tax, then you really wouldn't be in this predicament right now.  I have 100% seller record in the past 8 years I've been using eBay...almost ALL ON PHONES!  Please go away and stop trying to scam me.  And no, I don't want to give you any money back.

{Four}
Banks
Please start loaning money again.  This time, let's try to loan to only qualified people, and not let the government bully you into giving loans to just anyone to be nice.  I don't want to see us in this predicament we're in ever. again.  If you loan money, people can build and businesses can thrive.  I love when people build.  It's exciting and my job is more secure.

{Five}
Mom
Let's just relax about the wedding.  It'll all get done...trust me :)

{Six}
Robin
I can't wait to have a sister.  I'm so glad we've gotten to be friends over the years.  I'm SOOOOO happy you're as awesome as you are.  Thanks for everything.  I look forward to spending many happy years with you and David with holidays, vacations and the boys not listening ;)

{Seven}
Delilah
Please be a good dog.  Maybe you can teach Lily a thing or two about good dog etiquette...I'll do better with you, I promise.  Oh, and if you wouldn't cry in your kennel that would be awesome.  I can't handle it, I already feel guilty.

{Eight}
Ashley & Christy
Thanks for taking the challenge of the half marathon with me.  It's been so much fun so far and I'm sure we'll have many more fun times to come.  Thank you for your friendship.  I love having wonderful girlfriends to laugh with and talk to oh yea, and no drama!  You two are awesome!

{Nine}
Mr. President

Stop. Giving. Out. Money.  We are in so much debt now, it'll take decades to pay off...if we're lucky.  No, you didn't start it, but you doubled it-Congrats.  I didn't want you in the white house to begin with, not that I though McCain would do much better, but because of your stand-for-nothing platform of change and lack of experience, but now you've proven me right.  All you've done is spend money, start government programs we won't ever be able to pay for (hellloooo, China's already loaned us too much) and forced the country to become that much more fearful of spending money.  Economy, please step down another notch.  Stop it!  No more stimulus, no more loans to corporations and really...GM?  Why'd you buy them?  Since when does it seem ethical?  The unions already had you in their pocket (don't get me started on them).  Please start listening to the people.  The people who you are suppose to be representing AREN'T HAPPY.  I love how you're responding to questions from citizens now with comments of how 'people don't like things you're doing right now, but it's for the best'.  If the people don't like it and that's who you're representing, then it's not for the best.  Period.  This is not a dictatorship, it's suppose to be democracy.

Oh yea, and to ALL politicians...LISTEN UP: Stop playing the stupid partisan games.  Not passing something because you're a democrat and a republican put it on the table (or vise-versa) needs to STOP!  We need to get back to what's best for the country as a whole instead of party politics.  If not, you stupid people up in Washington are going to be to downfall of everything that has made America great.  I'm sure that'd look great on a resume!

{Ten}
Urban Meyer
Hi.  I'm one of your biggest fans.  Thank you for coaching us to 2 national championships and for helping us get number one recruiting classes.  You're a great coach sir and I trust your judgement.  But...I'm just a little confused about Steve Addazio and his employment within the University of Florida Athletics.  Last year wasn't such a stellar offensive year.  The more I watch Florida play this year, the more I question whether Addazio or Tebow was actually the offensive coach...I believe Tebow would be the correct answer.  Addazio's plays suck.  Brantley seems like a lost puppy on the field.  How many times does the poor boy have to throw his hands up in question to what the next play is going to be?  DELAY OF GAME because of the unclarity of it all...what the f-?  I hate the be a nay-sayer, but Addazio's not looking so good.  You can only play Moody up the middle so many times.  I mean, if that's going to be our play, let's at least get someone bigger in that position.  If your boy Addazio doesn't shape up, he's going to have to ship out.  As you've seen in the past, the Gator Nation won't put up with that.  Before the angry villagers come out with their torches and pitchforks, let's do something about him.  Either teach him how to coach good offensive plays, or find someone else.  Heck, even coach Brantley on some good play making skills and tell him to grow a pair and call the plays himself.  The boy's got talent, he just doesn't have an offense that's adjusted to his style and he has no confidence...compliments of Steve Addazio.  If you could fix that, I'd really appreciate it.  Thanks so much :)  I'd love to shake your hand one day.

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday!  I'm sad the weekend is over (like always) but with such a beautiful day to wake up to, it's hard to complain :)  It was 63 degrees this morning on my way to the gym!  In October.  In Florida.  Woo!  I've been loving the cooler days!

Friday, I completed one from scratch dessert.  Sugar cookies, made into little Gators...for the Gators :)  I dyed the dough orange and made blue frosting to go on top.  Unfortunately, my slacking self forgot to take pictures and they were all gobbled up by the time I remembered.  They were delicious though!  I'll post the recipe soon-it's a really yummy, soft sugar cookie recipe. Lily even snatched a raw one while I was making them, little devil dog...

Saturday, my friend Ashley and I did a training run for our upcoming 1/2 marathon.  We're just up to 6 miles right now.  I can't wait for the 8-10 mile range, that's my favorite distance!!  We did good, plus the weather was lovely out!  Then John & I went to a birthday party for our friend's kids at the bowling alley.  Later we went to dinner with friends:
The Girls: Picture stolen from Ashley @ Life After the Aisle since I was a slacker ALL weekend...

Then back to our place for the Florida/Alabama game and *cue eerie music* disaster strikes.  The game was horrible.  I'll spare the details of my dismay.  Hopefully we'll see Alabama in Atlanta in December.

Sunday, I ran again for speed workouts since the weather was so nice and then we had lunch for John's mom's birthday at this little restaurant on a lake called Julie's Waterfront Cafe.  It doesn't look like much from the road, but the food was good and there's nothing better than being on the back deck on a nice day overlooking the lake :)
Our lunchtime view

Oh, yea, and poor Lily was sick.  All. Day.  Poor pup.  I can only attribute it to the raw sugar cookie dough she managed to snag.  I guess that's what happens.  She ate nothing yesterday and finally ate for me this morning, so I'm happy and don't fear she's dying now.

Today, we are going to see little Delilah.  She's only 2 weeks old here:

Now she's about 6 weeks old and pretty much ready to come home.  We haven't gotten to see her since she was a hamster, but now she'll be a real puppy with a personality.  Assuming she's not crazy, we'll have a puppy in the next week or so.  Probably less, since my friend that we're getting her from just said that we could take her tonight if we wanted, but we are not quite ready yet.  We have nothing for the pup.  Time to go shopping I suppose.  I'll get a picture of her tonight hopefully and keep you posted!

Have a great Monday!!!

Five Question Friday

Five Question Friday:

1. Did you have a pen pal when you were little (or now)? Where were/are they from?
I'm pretty sure I had a pen pal in elementary school.  I don't really remember, but it might have been through girl scouts.

I did meet a boy at church camp in 5th grade that I wrote back and forth to for a while.    We were camp boyfriend/girlfriend and then continued to keep in contact for a while afterwards.  All the girls from the group he came with told me he wouldn't write...and I was 10, so what did I really care?  But he did for a while.  I'm pretty sure I saw him again in 8th grade at another church camp, but our 10 year old romance was gone by then haha.

2. If you could do a different job for one day, what would it be?
ESPN sideline reporter!  Oh yea!  IF we're actually talking specifics...SEC football!  How about the Florida/Alabama game this weekend?  Anyone want to hire me?!

PS: GO GATORS!!!

3. Do you remember your biggest fear from when you were little?
Well, I had a few...
One was having a snake come up the toilet and I'd sit down and oh no!

Another was when I was swimming in a pool, that the grate at the bottom would suddenly fly off and a shark would be in the pool...I would never even touch the grate.

And lastly, we had some family friends that were from Bolivia and they had all these stories they would tell of different scary people that they were told from their cousins who live in Bolivia still...there was this hair lady in the closet that would get you and a guy called the Duandito whose head was on backwards and he would come for children or something like that.  You could never say his name outloud or he'd come for you!

Obviously, I had a vivid imagination, and those family friends did not help with that :)

4. What do you think is a waste of time? Why?
Facebook.  It sucks you in.  I've been avoiding it this week + been too busy and it's been a nice break.  I've gone on in the morning to check messages from people, and then after that, haven't been on the rest of the day/night.  If only we could find a different place to post pictures within friends and you could get those few people you keep in touch with to email.  I really do have a love/hate relationship with that website.

5. What is the oldest item you have in your closet?
Off hand, I'd have to say a pair of Abercrombie jeans I got when I was 18.  It was the most I had ever spent on a pair of jeans, and my friend worked there and had gotten me a discount.  They're still going strong and I wear them on a regular basis.  No one will never convince me that all jeans are the same.  That's an area I will splurge on.  Tops you get very tired of so by the time they wear out, you don't want to wear them anymore anyway, but jeans don't usually go out of style, so if I can make another pair last 8 years, I'll be happy :)  My favorite jeans now are Big Star from the Buckle store.  We'll see if they survive the test of time!

Attitude

I've mentioned this quote before, but I feel I need it around as a constant reminder some days:

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.  I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes.”
--Charles R. Swindoll

So lately, I've sucked at this.  Not sure why, but I have.  I've let the little things get to me and that's not how I want to be.  I know I've had extra things going on, and there are quite a few things outside of my direct control right now and that shouldn't be an excuse.  Here's my attempt at trying this again.  I'm going to work on this daily.  hourly.  by the minute?  Geez.  Sometimes it's a constant effort.  Sometimes it's really easy.  But regardless, I'm going to work harder at it.  It doesn't mean I won't fall for a moment and vent to John or my girlfriends, but it does mean that IF that happens, I'm going to have a much quicker rebound rate and not let stupid things that I can't control get me :)

Happy Friday Eve!  Oh yeah!  Soooo ready!

Catching up + Thankful Thursdays

This week has been rather hectic with work, so I haven't had time to write.  Now it's back to your regularly scheduled program.

I did an expo at work this week which is what was keeping me so busy.  We only do one a year and this one is a huge deal in Orlando within the construction industry, so it takes a little time to prepare for.  Along with being in charge of marketing, I still have my other jobs to keep up with, so...I get consumed from time to time.  This is my favorite part of my job :)  If anyone is a Harry Potter fan, that is what our booth was themed around this year.  Every year, the expo has a theme.  This year it was in the movies.  Since we had a part in actually creating Hogwarts Castle in a theme park in Orlando, I thought having this movie as our theme would work quite nicely.  Here's a picture of our booth...and of our little costumes:

We had Butterbeer and Quidditch that people could play for to win tickets to  the theme park.  It may not be like a work expo you've gone to.  In construction, there's lots of socializing, fun, and booze.  There seriously was a booth making pineapple martinis.  Anyway, I learned a lot about Harry Potter stuff in doing this.  I have never really gotten into it.  I did watch a few movies when we started working on the project, but still haven't finished them.  They are pretty good though and I will finish them so I can join a couple of my lady friends for the next movie :)

On to Thankful Thursdays:

Happy Thursday!

Mixing Up Mondays + Weekend Recap

I've put some pork tenderloin in the slow cooker and am attempting to make pulled pork sandwiches tonight.  My friend told me about this and it sounded so easy.  Plus, pork tenderloin is good for you, so I figured I'd give it a try! *I'm ignoring the thought of what the BBQ sauce does to it by the way :)*

Ingredients:
Pork Tenderloin (2lbs)
Can of root beer

Directions:
Put together in slow cooker and cook on low 8 hours.  Drain.  Mix in favorite BBQ sauce and serve.

It's cooking now!  I love coming home to the house smelling like delicious food!  Can't wait to try it!

Weekend Recap:
This weekend was nice and relaxing.  Friday we went over to John's parents and had dinner with them and his bro and sis-in-law.

Saturday was spent doing some home improvement stuff + game day prep!  We went shopping and had Chick-fil-A for lunch (happy dance).  Then, that evening, our friends came over for the Florida/Kentucky game.  I must say, the Gators are looking better every week.  Next week is going to be our hardest game of the season...Alabama.  I'm prepping already!

Sunday was our first group training day.  It was one of the girls first time running 5 miles and she did awesome!  Hopefully we can get the rest of the girls out there soon!  I love training in a group.  It makes the long runs more enjoyable.  Just talk away until the run is done :)  When I finished the run, John had cleaned everything else in the house that we didn't get to yesterday before everyone came over, hung mirrors for me that we bought a while ago, and mowed the grass!  He's awesome!  That made my day, especially since I've been extremely OCD lately.  We are slowly getting things ready for it to become our home!  We also worked on the MG.  My Grandad passed away almost 2 years ago and I inherited his 1950 MG.  He loved that car.  He took it to shows all over the place with the MG club.  It's a little British race car:
It needs constant care, so we were tinkering with it at my house and then took it for a ride.  That's our "get away" car for the wedding...which was 6 months away yesterday!  Hurry March!!!

Have a Happy Monday!
