Project 365: Day 2

Lily, freshing groomed

5 Question Friday

1. If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?

I would have participated more in high school and college.  I let what "authority figures" tell me stand true and missed out on certain experiences that I wanted to do...like join the swim team.  If I hadn't listened to a teacher I had at the time, I would have found a way, but at 14, you think they know what they're talking about, but surprise surprise, sometimes they have their own agenda too.  I mean, I could have been an Olympic swimmer or something, but the world will never know.

2. Write about a time when you got lost.

Not to brag or anything, but I have a gift.  It is with direction.  I really don't get lost.  I feel very fortunate.  I once met the girl I stole my directional sense from to get my extra amazing talent and felt bad for her because she couldn't even follow directions...she'd still get lost.  No joke.

One time though, I did get lost in the car when my dad was driving.  We were driving around downtown Flint, MI in some pretty shady areas.  I kept telling him to get on this other road and he wouldn't listen.  Once he did, we were on the right road and out of the scary area.  And that was at age 9.  Just think of how my skill has developed since then :)

3. Camping or 5 star hotel?

I like variety in life, and this area is no exception.  I love to camp, but I also love staying in a fancy hotel where everything is taken care of.  I've been dying to go camping lately though.  Thankfully, I think we have a trip planned soon!!

4. Have you donated blood?

No.  I never weighed enough in high school and most of the way through college to donate.  The only reason I would have thought about it back then was to get out of class.  I am terrified of needles and pretty much my own blood coming out of my body in that capacity.  If I cut myself doing something fun...I don't really give a second thought to the blood, unless it's a lot.  I have made it my goal to give blood once in the next year because I am O+ and can help people, so I'm working on getting over my fear...I just have made John promise to come and hold my hand.  Plus, he's experienced and gives blood all the time, so he can walk me through it.

5. Do you have a budget or do you 'fly by' most months?

I have a budget to an extent, but I do not stop myself from spending a little extra one month if a lot has gone on or if I find something I really want.  I know what my bills are, how much I make and what I would like to save and have a little balance in there.  If I overspend one month, I try to make up for it the next month.  I have a loose budget...I suppose is the best way to describe it.

Project 365: Day 1

I've decided to start Project 365.  This is where I take a picture once a day for a year.

Here goes...

Day 1:

The line as I was walking up to the Social Security office to change my name officially...

Thoughts on Thursday!

-Thank you for all of your sweet comments!  This week has been a little crazy at work, I've been sick (ugh) and working on that whole changing your name thing.  I'll be back to regular scheduled blog-casting soon :)

-On our honeymoon, John and I were talking about how excited we were to return to 'normal life' and a normal routine and we were going to hit the gym five days this week.  Wanna know how many times that's happened?
Zero.
To be fair, I've been sick and John was kind of sick too, so it's not entirely our fault, but fail, nonetheless...

-We are (hopefully!) putting up a fence this weekend around a little courtyard area at the house.  Lily needs a space to roam free, we're planning on planting our garden out there and having a nice little patio area eventually.  Maybe a hot tub...???

-Easter candy is out in full force.  Too bad I've been feeling to gross to enjoy it.  I see the colorful packages in the store right now and it's sickening to me.  What is wrong with me?!  Candy lovin' Christina, come back to me soon!  I've had these darn things in my office all week and haven't even been tempted to bust into them...boo...

-Lily is a fuzzball right now.  Seriously, the fuzziest she's been since she was a puppy right before she was allowed to be groomed.  Fortunately there's been a cool front that's blown through so she's not dying of heat stroke.  She has an appointment tomorrow, but right now, you can't see her eyes or anything...
See?

-This morning, I woke up with a plan.  I was going to the social security office to do a name change.  They don't open until 8:30 and I was going to be proactive and knock this out, so I got there at 7:40 to find a line already 15 people deep.  Crazy.  They changed where you can get your cards done now and so one office services three surrounding counties.  Since you have to have one of those to work, live, ect in America...why don't we make them a tiny bit more frequent, like, say, driver license offices?  And that, my friends, is where I will be headed tomorrow morning.  Let the fun begin.

-We bought a new coffee table this week.  It matches the entertainment center John bought when he bought the house.  I was so happy it had a drawer!  Yay!

Time to get back to work.  Play along and tell your 'Thoughts on Thursday'!

Tail Wagging Tuesday

I'm linking up with C Mae for Tail Wagging Tuesday!  What could be better than a post just about our furry friends?!

So, today I'm posting my favorite picture(s) of Lily!  I can't pick just one...so I picked two, and there's many more where these came from...you should see my photo album on my phone!
This is the day that I brought Lily home.  It was also the day we were moving, so it was quite a busy and exciting day.  That is where I learned that Lily's tongue is huge for her size.

This is Lily after playing in the pond at my parents' house.  She loves getting down and dirty!

Thanks C Mae for the fun link up!

I'm Back...

Hi Bloggy friends!
I'm back and now officially Mrs. W!  I have been married, honeymooned and am back to my first day of work.  Boo.  I feel that honeymoons should last longer, but maybe that's just me (and John)?

I loved our wedding!  It turned out just how we wanted it to.  Below are a couple of pictures from the wedding, but if you want to see more right now, check out Ashley's blog at Life After the Aisle.  She was one of my beautiful bridesmaids and her husband was so sweet and took some awesome pictures!  She has the best pictures of our wedding party (and our amazing friends!) For now, I'll share some from the ceremony and the beginning of the reception from another friend who does photography on the side.  More to come later, it's going to take a while to share them all!

John and the boys.  The pastor was John and my youth pastor from middle school and high school.  We were so happy he came down to marry us!

My lovely ladies!

My daddy and I

My sister :)

And yes, for the reception, the boys all had on Gator bow-ties and I had a matching bouquet :)

We cruised to Belize and a couple places in Mexico for our honeymoon.  It was wonderful, relaxing and just what we needed.  Plus, now I have a tan!  Yay!  Here are a few pictures from day 1 and 2 of our honeymoon!

Ziplining through the rain forest in Belize...amazing!

Just after getting on the boat

Right after setting sail from our balcony

First day's sunset from out room

We really like breakfast and insisted on taking pictures of pretty much every meal.  John is obsessed with milk as you can with with his 3 cartons for the morning.

First formal night

Cave tubing after we escaped the cave, right before we dried off zip-lining :)

For whatever reason, blogger isn't being nice to these pictures now and half of them are sideways boo.  Maybe they think I've reached my limit for today?

I'll be trying to catch up on what has been going on with you lovely ladies!  Happy Monday :)
