Happy WEEK!!!

So...I'm getting married this week!  MARRIED to my love!  Yay!  I can't wait!

My bachelorette party this weekend was a BLAST!  My friends did a wonderful job planning and that night was just what I needed!  We took a pole dancing class and had such a great time.  There was a lot of laughing and spinning and if you knew us, you'd laugh too :)  I don't have the pictures, but they are in a super secret vault never to be released.  It is actually a fitness studio they teach it in, if you ever get a chance, I'd totally recommend taking a class for a girls night.  I don't dance, like at all, and I loved it!

Thursday night, I enjoyed the Braves game with my friend Andrew and then learned to love nothing other than
frozen yogurt bars----->Now that's my kind of bar!!
I'd never been before and I can't believe I've lived my life so long without going to a place like that.  Me, the lover of ice cream.  But, don't worry.  I've made up for lost time.  I had it again on Friday night :)
I met a couple of my running girls for sushi and they insisted we take a Friday tequila shot.  I'm not a huge shot drinker, much less of tequila (yuck) but they promised me Patron was the best...so...I agreed if they gave me a lot more lime
Um...more like tequila on the rocks=3 shots?  What kind of shot was that?!
I must tell you, sushi does not help much when it comes to drinks like the one pictured above, but it is pretty
So, once again, I had frozen yogurt bar and that definitely helped :)

I also finished our place cards Friday night.  Three of my bridesmaids came over and hung out and I wrote and wrote, but I think they're cute and more importantly...DONE!  That about checks off my list (hopefully!) But we had a fun girls night x 2.

It was a wonderful weekend!  Only 5 more days!!!

The ?'s

1. If you won the title of Miss America, what would your platform be?
I think my platform would be health in America.  Our country is so unhealthy.  We have a lazy attitude, we eat poorly and way too much and I think we really need to educate people.  I know people hear about it but we need programs that teach people the value of being healthy and that it's ok to eat things you like, it's just about moderation.  I've never heard a person who has changed their eating habits to a more healthy style and started to exercise, say they regret it.  It just makes you feel better and we need to encourage that, especially for children and future generations.  I feel like we aren't too far off from Wall-E.  You know...

2. Outdoorsy or Indoorsy?
I love being outdoors!  Give me water near by=even better.  We spend every weekend during the summer/fall outdoors...boating mostly, trips to the beach and the football games!

3. Pajama's out in public..classy or tacky?
Tacky.  It's cute when you're 5 and your parents would take you to the video store I guess, but no.  How much effort does it take to throw on a shirt and pair of shorts before leaving the house?  Not a whole lot and you look a lot better.

4. What's your favorite room in your house?
I'm torn between the bedroom and family room + kitchen combo.  We're revamping the house still and hanging decorations, so I'm just starting to love the house so much more.  We look like we live in a grown up house now...like whoa.

5. Nook, Kindle, or book?
I haven't really used either, so I'd have to stay with book for now.  I've thought about getting a Kindle though.  Anyone out there just love them?

6. Would you rather wear the same outfit for a week or not brush your teeth for a week?
Wear an outfit for the week for sure.  I hate having socks on my teeth!  (That's what I call dirty teeth)  To me that is the worst thing.  Plus, you didn't say I couldn't wash the outfit, so I assume I'd be doing laundry every night :)

7. What's your favorite blog at the moment?
I can't choose just one.  I really do enjoy reading all of the blogs on my reading list.

8. Lately i've been daydreaming about.........?
My wedding and honeymoon...but mostly the honeymoon.  I'm excited to be married to John, and I think the day will be awesome, but I'm over the actual wedding stuff.  I'm dreaming about laying out in the sun on our cruise ship, spending interrupted time together (which we haven't had in forever) and of course, just honeymooning :)  I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him!

Thoughts on Thursday!

* I'm going to see the Braves play, the Braves play, the Braves play.  No, I don't really care about baseball.  At all.  But going to the games is relaxing and a tradition with my life long friend Andrew.  We've gone every year for ___ years!  I don't really remember how long it's been since we started this, but it's tradition darn it and it's a fun time for hanging out.  He on the other hand, a huge Braves fan, so I people watch and chat while he watches how good the players are haha.

* I'm not wearing green today...and I've gotten myself some Irish blood.  I'm blaming it on the English blood coming out...?  Don't pinch me...

* I'm about to go run on the treadmill for a few miles during lunch.  I signed up for this cupcake marathon where you have to run 26.2 miles total by 3/26 *wedding day* which wouldn't normally be a problem but I've severely lacked motivation and energy lately.  I signed up because I can win free cupcakes for motivation...

* When grocery shopping Tuesday, after trying on my perfect (finally!) dress, I picked up some milk.  Most of the milk expired on 3/30, but I found the lucky gallon that expired on 3/26...yes, I bought it.

* I was told by everyone at work, they just knew they wouldn't see me after Tuesday next week.  Yesterday it was Wednesday.  Can I get a Monday anyone??  So, it's nice to know that permission has been granted to only show up for work two days next week.  It makes me want to skip the hard work I was planning on putting into the name cards this weekend and save that for next week.  See no motivation...

* Bachelorette party is Saturday!  I'm soooo excited!  I have the best girlfriends so I know we're going to have fun!  I'm ready!

* I had a date night with John last night.  It was the first time we've actually sat down together for dinner in weeks.  He's been working nights and days and I've been running around like a mad-woman trying to tie up loose ends...he was even the one that pointed that out.  I think we're both so very ready to be back to a less hectic schedule.  Where we can at least eat dinner together.

* So, I think there's this squirrel that messes with me on my way to work every day.  He runs out, does that little dance thing and runs back.  I panic because I might run over him.  I feel like this is him:
You laugh, but I battle daily with that squirrel...

* That about wraps my random thoughts of for today.  Happy Almost Friday!!

Manual Labor and Other Random Shenanigans

I put my mad skills to work today and finished wood for a little project. It was a nice break from all things standard work and especially wedding.

My work...

This morning Lily was chillin'. Chillin' like a villain.

Now that's how cool dogs relax.

I'm done done done with wedding planning. We have 11 days left and it can't come fast enough. My relief this week is a few wonderful things, including:

With Andrew!

Dinner with my running girls
&

With my best gals! That will totally top of my weekend and give me much needed girl time with my favorites!!! Can't wait!!

Plus, tomorrow I get date night with my future hubs! Yay!!

I'm sitting on the couch right now watching Gilmore Girls. Did anyone else used to watch?? I loved it. It's nice to catch repeats every now & then! Brings me back :-)

Thoughts on Thursday!

~ Last night, I got 7 glorious hours of sleep.  I had only been averaging about 4 a night this week, so I feel so much better today than I have!!!  Oh sleep, how I love thee!!!  If I can manage to get another night of 7+ tonight, I will be golden!  Sleep does my body (and mind) good.

~ Lily is doing good after her little vet visit yesterday.  She doesn't look quite hillbilly and I can't get a picture yet of her teeth because she doesn't like me messing with her mouth right now, but I can't blame her...if I had stitches in my mouth, I wouldn't want it messed with either.

~ I registered for
this morning at the urging of one of my running buddies :)  She told me she had heard word of it filling up and I'd be bummed.  I was waiting to sign up until my name officially changed, but I just signed up with my soon-to-be last name!!  I found a couple discount codes for anyone who is looking for $10 off!  It worked, I used it for John and I! SDSURVEY10 or 10RNRDEN Go sign up and save some $$$!!!

~ We went to Kobe's Japanese Steakhouse for my brother's birthday last night and I swear Charlie Sheen's double was sitting next to me, he was even dressed like him.  It was his 40th birthday, and he was talking to us all night.  He was trashed before he sat down, I watched him order 12 mixed drinks and 3 sake (equals about 4 shots at this place, not sure how they normally come, I've never had it) and he sounded exactly like Charlie Sheen. I'm a big Two and a Half Men fan, so I've been hearing his voice at least once a week for years now.  I wanted to ask him to say, "I'm bi-winning", but I reasoned with myself that might be crossing a line.

That's what SHEEN said...bahhahaha...

~ I had donuts for breakfast and it was awesome.  I haven't had much of an appetite this week, but I figure I can always make an exception for a donut :)

~ Only one more day of work this week and I leave town!  I am so happy to be getting away from it all this weekend!  I'll get to see one of my friends get married, go to the beach, and get to visit with some other friends we haven't seen in a while.  Plus, when it's someone else's wedding, it's just rude to have anything to do with your own haha, so we're welcoming the break!
This will be me...even if the water is in the 60's...
Assuming it's warm out anyway...(praying)

~ Tonight, we are working on centerpieces.  I'm hoping that we get them all done.  John was going to help tonight, but he's been working ridiculously crazy hours (just one example: worked 9pm-2am Tuesday night, back Wednesday morning at 9am and worked until 2am this morning nonstop) so he's not feeling too well right now poor guy.  Hopefully we can get enough done tonight!  I will share a sneak peek with you when I get it done enough to share :)

~ I'm now having slight buyers remorse from signing up for the marathon I mentioned above.  All the training...like whoa.  I'm sure it'll be much more fun this time around, I've learned from my previous experiences...and will only be committing to train from June-November.  I've done June-January before...all for one race...talk about burned out.  But look how happy I looked after I was finished:
Oh, and don't run the Disney marathon.  The course is boring!  You run 5-7 miles through parks total, all broken up.  The hardest miles are spent running on back roads outside the park, with even a 4 mile out and back at one section.  Boo Disney.  Give the runners a better place to run!  The parts you're actually in the parks are exciting and energetic, they have the employees lined up cheering, but it doesn't make up for 20 miles of nothingness in my opinion!  Plus they're very expensive!

~ I have a lot of work to do before the week ends, so I'd better get back to it!  I'm starting to work on my hand off list too for our honeymoon week!  Woo hoo and little more than 2 weeks to go!!!!!!!!!

Have a nice day ladies!

The Faces of Lily

Today, little Lily had to get her teeth cleaned because she apparently had some tarter build up that could cause problems.  I asked the vet a few months back about her breath and tried to check on her teeth but I was told they were fine.  But when I went a couple weeks ago for Lily's annual shots, I looked like a bad dog mom because apparently her teeth were horrible and needed to be dealt with ASAP.  I took her in at 7:30 and she was their first patient this morning.  They had to put her under anesthesia and the vet called me when Lily woke up.  She said that all her little teethers up front were causing her problems and were ruined by the tarter (you know, the stuff I had tried to get checked before by the other vet) and so she lost most of her little front teeth because of that, which apparently she doesn't need to eat, but I liked her just the way she was.  I picture her looking a bit hillbilly now because she has 2 on the bottom and 3 on the top now.  I loved when she showed her grill and now she won't have one to show.  Check out her awesome grill:

Oh, how I will miss it...

This week has been tough between more issues with my dress (uh...really? we're 2.5 weeks away right now), really sad news about a family friend, John working nights AND days so his schedule is crazy hectic and we haven't had much time together, no sleep and the list could keep going on and on (and no, I'm not usually Debbie Downer, I just feel done this week), so in honor of Lily and her lost teeth (which I feel sad about) I'm going to describe my week by the faces of Lily:

The End.

I get to pick Lily up at 3 and it can't come soon enough.  I'll try and share with you her hillbilliness soon.

It's Monday...

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

one.
I haven't really been in much of a blogging mood lately.  There's a lot going on right now and the things I would like to share, I really can't.  But sometimes, being able to write it out is a nice outlet, so I'm a little bummed about missing out on that.

two.
I'm tired of BS.

three.
This week is quite hectic, but I'm so looking forward to the weekend!  One of my friends from high school is getting married and I'm so happy for them!!  I don't see her very often anymore, so it'll be good to catch up and watch them walk down the aisle!  Plus, it's out of town so that's no wedding stuff for us and the very good possibility of a trip to the beach!! Yay!!

four.
I'm so excited about my bachelorette party in less than two weeks!  I'm not sure what all my ladies have in store, but everything is fun with them!!

five.
I'm so thankful for my friends.  They're very supportive and are more than I could ask for!  This has been a bit of a touchy week and they've been awesome!

six.
Tonight, I'm going to another wedding dress fitting and then off to run with my love!!  I love running dates :)

seven.
We had sushi for dinner from the best sushi place I've ever been to.  Seriously, you crave their sushi after you eat it. all. the. time.

eight.
So, everyone's talking about Charlie Sheen right now.  I love Two and A Half Men, so I'm bummed it's off the air, but I don't know that I think the dude's crazy...I think he's taking an opportunity to play the role of a lifetime.  I think it's a act.  He's doing this to continue to get more publicity.  He's the highest paid actor on tv right now and has been offered more $$ than than any of us could fathom by many networks already since these crazy spout offs started.  He's been cleared for drugs and he is an actor...
What do you think?

Happy Monday friends!!  I hope today is wonderful for you!

Ever feel like running away??

So, the wedding is getting so close and I'm kinda done.  I know that it's a wonderful time in my life, but it's become a little overwhelming, everything that is happening right now.  All good things, minus some guest list drama, but I just feel done.  I've been looking up everything for our marriage license and they perform ceremonies until 3:30. every. day.  Tempted?  Why yes, I am.  I guess we just wouldn't tell anyone, ever.  They'd all probably be mad if they knew. But that would leave us spending 3 extra weeks in wedded bliss laughing at the absurdity of whether or not this or that will happen, because we'd already be married, so who cares at this point?? I already don't, so why are some of the small 'what if's' such a big deal?

Let me explain...I'm so excited to get married to this guy:
He's my best friend!!

I want the day to be beautiful and special.  I have picked out everything with care so it will go with what our vision has been for our wedding, but there's about 3 weeks left and so many things that you just cannot control.  Like...the weather, or whether or not guests that arrive early to our outdoor, on the beach wedding, will or will not try to enter the tent where the reception is prior to the ceremony, or if local beach goers will try and go into the tent and eat our fruit display, or if someone will trip because the park might be too dark after sunset, or if it will be windy, or if people will get lost, or if there won't be enough parking...ahhh!!!!

We've done our best to rectify all these things, but sometimes, there are things out of our control.  I have accepted this, so why can't others that are involved?  It gets very frustrating rehashing these conversations.  This day should not be focused around fruit displays and wind.  My veil might fly off because it might be blowing 60 miles an hour, but we'll laugh, say 'I do' and be on our way to celebrate with friends and family at the reception, regardless of any other the things mentioned above.  Hey, we'd have a fun story to laugh about when we're 80 in rockers.  That is what the day represents...the official start of our lives together, the commitment we make before God and our loved ones...not trivial things outside of our control.  Some days, it just gets frustrating.  This past week has been just that.  I know it's just trying to be helpful, but I am just over worrying about things!

These next couple weeks are going to be a frenzy.  I'm going to continue moving stuff out of my place, I have friends renting my place that are starting to move in.  Then there's dress fittings, hair to be cut and highlighted, centerpieces to create, one of my good friends from high school getting married in 9 days!! a bachelorette party, and the week of the wedding.  Like whoa!

If things don't chill out, this may be us at the end of the month...
